01-06-2008 A “DAY OF SMILE” This Child protection day will be remembered by the children of the three orphanages, 1st and 2nd city and 1st regional orphanages, for a long time. On this day ‘Ayala’ and ‘Dara’ charity funds organized and conducted a real celebration for children. Children were looking forward to this day. On the 1st of June 2008 on the green pitch of Almaty International School`s stadium a colourful show was presented. Samat Show Technics fixed a real concert stage, which was first employed by the circus performers and after that oriental dance and breakdance master classes were held on it by our volunteers – students of Almaty universities. On different parts of the pitch volunteers entertained kids with versatile games and funny competitions fit both for the little ones and the teenagers. There were also American football and body art lessons available; different relay races and painting competitions were held. The event was also attended by the city Akim Akhmetzhan Yessimov and Minister of Education and science Zhanseit Tuimebayev. They congratulated the children on the International Child Protection Day and said a lot of warm words about the organizers of the event. The celebration caught the interest of plenty of mass media; interviews were taken from the fund representatives, children and their mentors. After delicious lunch was served by such restaurants like ‘Bellagio’, ‘Line Brew’, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Fame’, ‘White Coffee’ and ‘Kok Tobe’, ice cream and beverages producer ‘Baskin Robbins’ and ‘Resmi Group’ a fiery concert with participation of such Kazakhstani performers as ‘All Davay’, ‘FM’, ‘Young Stars’, ‘Turar’ took place. There was no limit to children`s pleasure, they sang along with the singers, danced with them on the stage and didn`t want to let them leave and asked them to sign their autographs and just wanted to touch their idols. The whole event was conducted by a popular show man Alexander Shumskyi. The akimats (town halls) of Auezov and Bostandyk districts assisted to carry out a proper, with no damage to the ecology and above all secure event. These state authorities provided sun-protective tents and composting toilets. Special thanks goes to ‘Tartip’ JSC for supplying garbage containers which by the end of the day were full of bottles, expendable utensils etc., and the green pitch and its adjacent territory remained clean. Apart from the bright caps that all children received at the beginning of the holiday, at the end of the show all children were presented additional gifts. Girls were given summer attires and boys got real football uniforms of Europe`s most popular clubs. In additional to that, each of the three orphanages received sets of sports equipment: footballs and volleyballs, badminton sets and jump ropes. The first president`s fund presented a camcorder and a camera to each orphanage. But for children the most valuable thing is not these presents but rather kind attitude to them; people who concern and care for them. ‘Ayala’ and ‘Dara’ funds are grateful to all organizations, companies, media and just kind-hearted people for helping us bring lots of smiles to children`s faces on this holiday. ON A DAY OF SMILE!
