Within the limits of the project under such name on April, 13th, 2011 the charity fund "AYALA" has handed over  31 phototherapy devices to the chief doctors  of 13 maternity hospitals and the central district hospitals. It took place in the office of Public Health services department of Almaty region. Every year over 20 000 children are born in such obstetrical clinics. Many of these children suffer from postnatal jaundice (hyperbilirubinemia). Medicinal treatment of this pathology is inefficient, the phototherapy devices cope with illness for few days and absolutely without medicines. This part of the project has been commenced when we got evidence that this type of treatment is efficient in maternity hospitals and perinatal centre of Almaty. Physicians have warmly thanked employees of our fund for the presented equipment. Doctors during training in Almaty have seen by own eyes that the phototherapy is very effective for treatment of jaundice of newborns. Therefore, they were pleased to accept the devices. The “National Bank of Kazakhstan” is the main sponsor of the project «Health of nation begins with maternity hospital» in Almaty region. Cost of this project is 17 050 000 tenge.
