We hope this day will be a milestone in the development of charity movement in Kazakhstan. The working meeting of charity organisations was held on 12th of November in the hall which was kindly provided by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the meeting was a discussion of principles of Association of Charity Foundations (AСF), association of all organisations working in the field of philanthropy.
The idea of such association was a dream among the old representatives of this field but only the initiative of young foundations “AYALA” and “DARA” allowed starting up this project. The basic ideas of “AСF” are informing colleagues about the projects, cooperation in the intersecting projects etc., and the main idea ¾ uniting all the foundations to change the laws of Kazakhstan in the sphere of interests of charity foundations were born during the discussion.
A citywide event - a conference of all present charity and social organisations of Almaty is scheduled for January 2009. The formation of alliances “with the same interests”, global alliances, lobby coalitions, exchange of experience and implementation of all forms of cooperation will take place on this meeting.
