On 27th of January 2009, a founding conference of the “Association of Charity Foundations (AСF)” was held in the hall of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This meeting of various private and public foundations proved once again that the existence of the Association is necessary. The last working meeting of foundations (12th of November) engaging with “intersecting” projects showed that uniting of the forces not only reduces financial expenditures, but also increases the efficiency of the joint participation both in inindividual event and long-term campaigns.
Concerning that the social injustice is prevalent around the world and often do not depend on gender, age, race and religion, and concerning the important role of philanthropy in modern society, and taking into account the need for revival of traditions and culture of philanthropy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and concerning the importance of ethics of charity and philanthropy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and taking into account that the charitable aid should not depend on nationality, religion, political belief or other differences between donors and beneficiaries, and bearing in mind that arrogance, neglect or humiliating treatment with beneficiaries and between charities are not allowed
We are present here to declare that we announce on 27th of January 2009 the day of Charity of the Republic of Kazakhstan and announce the main principles of the Association of Charity Foundations existence.
The Association is organized as a voluntary association of foundations of Almaty, and later of Republic of Kazakhstan.
The association does not form a legal entity and therefore membership in the ACF does not provide meaningless bureaucratic rules and instruments of monetary contributions to the managerial staff of association.
Association as a whole does not support any political parties, movements and groups that do es not participate in political actions and election campaigns.
Coercion to participate in the activities of the funds in ACF events is immoral and unacceptable.
Entry, exit, participation in charity projects of ACF are governed only by considerations of expediency, integrity and capabilities of individual funds.
Day of charity becomes the starting line for launch of Charity campaigns and major events of the Association, groups of funds and separate funds - a kind of “Professional” holiday of the non-profit organisation.
We call for declaration support by all non-profit organizations (NPOs) of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international charities, humanitarian and educational foundations, businesses, government agencies and all citizens of our country, and vow to support this declaration by their beliefs, deeds and their unsullied honor.
