Project “Breathe life”

The project “Breathe life” is oriented towards providing help to the intensive care units of children hospitals in Kazakhstan.
It was launched in 2007 when “AYALA” foundation assisted with providing medical equipment to the intensive care unit of children city infection hospital of Almaty. Artificial lung ventilation apparatus, semi-automatic laboratory, phototherapy machine, humid crib for infant children and other medical equipment was supplied to this hospital unit.

This project has proved its efficiency by rescuing dozens of infants’ lives. With the help of the equipment that was provided by “AYALA” foundation to the intensive care unit of the children city infection hospital #1 the death rate at hospital has decreased in 4 times.

In 2011 it was decided to expand the limits of the launched project outside the boundaries of the South capital. At present time the foundation has received a great number of letters asking for help from children hospitals and intensive care units of maternity hospitals. It is necessary to visit all cities of Kazakhstan to evaluate objectively the situation connected with the provision of equipment to these institutions. Therefore, the data about needs of these hospitals will appear later.

Maternity hospital of Panfilov region in Zharkent city

It was opened in May, 2007 within the frameworks of program “100 schools – 100 hospitals”. It serves Panfilov, Uigur and Raiymbekov regions. At present moment the maternity hospital is optimized for 90 beds. Since January 2015 1900 childbirths have been delivered, 200 children were treated in the in-patient department. Various surgical measures were undertaken in regard to maternity patients, premature babies and infants.

At present moment there is a lack of medical equipment in the maternity hospital. As the hospital was built and put in commission not long ago, purchase of additional medical equipment wouldn’t be foreseen. But for improving the provision of medical help to children’s population of the region it is of vital necessity to improve the material and technical facilities of the following type:
