The celebration of the World Children’s Day in the library named after Begalin was very unusual. 30 pupils from 3-4th grades of the boarding school №10 for children from low-income families were participants of this holiday. Library staff prepared for the arrival of our children creatively and carefully. At the beginning, there was an excursion to all the halls and cabinets of the library. During this excursion children learned how to use the library, and more importantly, they were taught how to treat books carefully. Library staff showed all the advancements in their field - 3D books, features of interactive board, electronic carriers of knowledge.
Games, dances and quizzes were prepared for children in the conference hall. A real Baba Yaga took part in these quizzes. Children’s delight had no bounds, many of them wanted to join the library immediately. After the excursion the children did not want to leave the library and sat down in one of the halls and began to read. We are confident that such an unusual visit to the library prompted in children the love for reading, and formed a delicate treatment for books.
According to the established tradition at the end of the holiday children got their so favorite burger-menu and a gift that day, of course, was a book.
