Pupils of the boarding school of the sports Olympic reserve named after K. Munaitpasov have met with the author of children's stories Aigul Kemelbayeva.
The event was hosted by AYALA Charity Foundation and Meloman bookstore. The writer spoke with schoolchildren about her first children's story and other works. The children were asking many questions, and at the end of the meeting there was an autograph session and a presentation of gifts from the bookstore.
Aigul Kemelbayeva is a prose writer, a literary scholar, a screenwriter, an essayist and a translator. She won more than 20 literary awards, she is a many-time winner of presidential scholarships for writers, a laureate of the State Award "Daryn", a laureate of the International Literary Contest named after Victor Schnittke (the diploma of the 1st degree), a laureate of the International contest "Altyn asyq" in the nomination "The literary works on the literature of Russian Germans" (Russia, 2014).
Aigul Kemelbayeva wrote her first novel "The journey to the Seventh Continent" at the age of 15. The work was awarded with the II National closed contest of children's literature prize.
She published the books "The journey to the Seventh Continent" (1986), "Tobylgysai" (2001), "The tower" (2003), "The heart of Mazhnun" (2013), "Soz Hikmet" (2016 ).
She wrote scripts for the film "Sin", based on M. Zhumabayev’s story "Sin of Sholpan" (Kazakhfilm named after Sh. Aimanov, 2005), and for the documentaries "Sultan Orazalin" (2013), "Suleiman Yeskarayev" (2012), "Zhiembet zhyrau" (2014).
