The leading practicing orthopedic surgeon of Pusan National University Hospital (PNUH) Professor Jung Sub Lee consulted 28 children with various orthopedic diseases during his another visit to Almaty at the invitation of AYALA Foundation.
For three days Professor Lee was receiving children with congenital torticollis, bone cyst, shortened femur and other orthopedic pathologies at the University Clinic No. 1 of Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov (formerly Aksai Children's Hospital). Together with doctors of the clinic he also examined young patients being treated there.
Professor Lee is the head of the spine center and the head of the orthopedics department of PNUH. He is also an ambassador of our foundation. In August, with the support of Chevron Company, our foundation sent two orthopedic surgeons from the University Clinic No. 1 to PNUH to be trained by him. Within two weeks they watched numerous and various operations on the spine and the hip joint, microoperations on the lower extremities and muscle transplant operations. This two-week practice helped them to bring orthopedic operations in Kazakhstan to a whole new level thanks to the introduction of modern techniques that they learned at PNUH.
