Aktau City polyclinic No.1 now has equipment, which makes identifying hearing problems in children at an early stage easier.

Within the framework of "Let’s help to hear the world" program of “AYALA” Charity Foundation a diagnostic audiometer was purchased. It was bought with money of employees of Caspian Offshore Construction Company - initially it was going to use the funds for purchasing New Year's gifts for children, but people decided to help the polyclinic instead. The company employees explained their decision with the fact that Aktau was their homeland and there their children and relatives were born, grew and sought for medical treatment.  The budget of the project was 1 507 000 tenge

In turn, director of Aktau City polyclinic No.1 Orynsha Zhumalieva noted the relevance of this equipment. ‘This device determines sensitivity of sound; it records a threshold of hearing, and loss of hearing at different stages can be diagnosed. Nowadays on the order of the Minister of Healthcare in Kazakhstan health problems in children have been screened for years, starting with maternity hospitals. For years we did not have the opportunity to conduct screening. At the level of maternity hospitals it has been set, but at the polyclinic level it has not been yet. Children are affected by this - if their hearing is not developed they do not hear and retard. This device allows examine children from four years old and even adults,’ she said.

“AYALA” Charity Foundation thanks the employees of Caspian Offshore Construction Company and looks forward to further cooperation.
