Our foundation regularly returns to the projects, which in the past were paramount, and contributed greatly to the development of local health services. One such project was the "I also want to live" project for the development of pediatric cardiac surgery. In this project, we passed to the National Research Center of Surgery named after Syzganov large amount of medical equipment and instruments for conducting operations of children with the congenital heart diseases (CHD). Our physicians, supported by the foundation were trained in Italy and Russia. Kazakhstan was repeatedly visited by the brigade of highly skilled children cardiac surgeons and reanimatologists of the leading clinics of Italy. It was also possible with the assistance of "AYALA", "DARA" and "DOM" charitable foundations and the Italian “Aiutarei bambini” charity organization.
As a result of active work in the information field of several charity foundations was that the government turned its attention to the problem of cardiac surgery. Recall that in 2008 the infant mortality statistics in CHD was disappointing. Out of the five children with congenital heart disease - four did not live up to one year. And operations in Almaty held only in the cardiac surgery department of the National Research Center of Surgery named after Syzganov. At present, the situation has changed for the better. In the NRCS opened children's department of cardiac surgery, operations at CHD held at the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, as well as the Center of Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery in Almaty.
Cooperation with the Italian heart surgeons continues to this day. Our foundation supports "business trips" of brigades of doctors in Kazakhstan. Collaborative operations with Kazakhstani surgeons help our doctors to raise the level of qualification. But the most difficult operations on the tiny hearts of newborn babies with CHD would be very difficult without special tools. On the 16th of January, 2015 the "AYALA" charity foundation conveyed to the center of Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery in Almaty set of high quality tools for cardiac surgery in children. The cost of this set is 5 000 Euros, which translated into tenge is 1 032 500.
We are confident that the new tools will help save more than a dozen children's lives. By the way, next visit of doctors from Italy is planning in April. For a week of work in Almaty, international medical team conducted 10-12 major heart surgeries, spend a lot of tests and consultations.
