Doctors of the National Scientific Center named after Syzganov, specialists in ultrasound diagnostics, returned from training in the city of Tomsk. Within two months two doctors were trained at the Institute of Genetics of Tomsk Medical University. The aim of these courses was improving skills of diagnosis of congenital heart defects in newborns and the fetus during pregnancy. We sent doctors for training within the project “I also want to live” aimed at developing children heart surgery in our country.
Here is what doctors wrote in their small report: there is a huge difference in the methods of echocardiography between specialists from Tomsk and Almaty. The installation of modern ultrasound devices to the clinic expanded the limits of echocardiography, until that we did not use all the features of new devices that give more information to cardiac surgeon prior to surgery. We gained tremendous experience and compiled a large archive of research, they shared willingly that experience. We were very impressed by the team approach of all physicians that make it possible can working together to solve all the issues of various specialties, as a resault they have the best results of operations. After the arrival we actively use all the features of our devices, actively work with surgeons and resuscitators. We studied intensively the methodology of transesophageal echocardiography, prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart desease by “cardiologist’s eyes”, whereas this method is different in the genetic clinic for diagnosing the congenital heart desease, they look through the eyes of an obstetrician, and one more thing: in Tomsk a huge number of patients from Kazakhstan are operated, which means that the state of cardiac surgery in Kazakhstan is not at a high level.
